Summer Vacation

Well, we got home today from vacation at the beach! We had so much fun! :>) The weather was great. We spent most of our time on the beach and some in the pool. We enjoyed the time on the beach even though they had double red flags up the entire time. We went to Margaritaville and that was a really neat place! We also rode go carts and played putt-putt. The time away went way too fast, but it was good to get back home. I needed the time away from work and just the every day rushing around. Now it is back to the real world. Back to work tomorrow and then the kids start back to school Wednesday. It is hard to believe that their summer vacation has almost come to an end. Have a great week!

Hot, Hot, Hot

Boy, has it been hot here! It got up to 100 degrees yesterday and 99 degrees today! It rained this afternoon, so it really cooled things off! I am sure my flowers loved the little bit of rain! They have been surviving the heat! I am sure with this hot weather that the little water that I put on them in the evening is not enough. Hope you are doing well and staying cool!

I hope that you have had a good weekend! I know I have! We stayed busy with Elizabeth's 6th birthday ALL WEEKEND, starting on Friday! :) It was fun, lots of fun! (a little stressful too, but SO worth it) My brother and sister in law came to Elizabeth's party Friday night - it was SOOO good to see them! Amanda, I know you are reading this... thanks for driving all the way for Elizabeth's birthday :) We love ya'll!!! Hopefully I will be able to share pictures soon. My computer has been giving me fits lately. I better try to get Elizabeth in the bed. Back to work and summer camp tomorrow :( - why can't the weekends last longer????? Quiet Morning

It has been a very quiet Monday morning. Usually our mornings are very hectic trying to get ready to get out of the house on time! Elizabeth could not sleep at all lastnight so neither could I. Not sure if it is allergies or sinuses, but she is running a fever now. :( Hopefully it will go away REAL soon!

I went out to turn my sprinkler on some of my flowers and noticed my canna lilies are blooming! It always makes me feel better to see something new blooming. Here it is -

Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday! I am totally exhausted and I know Elizabeth is for sure! She went to summer camp today and straight to her swimming lesson she went. Off to ball practice after swimming. She left ball practice a few minutes early because she was "sick". Poor thing was just give completely out I am sure! She definitely had a full day! When we got home, I went out to pay my flowers some attention. They needed some water, so I gave them a drink :) I hope you are having a good week! ~JEN~

WOW! It has been over 2 months since my last post! Where has the time gone? Oh - I know... we have 3 kids that keep us busy! :) Elizabeth is playing t-ball while still taking gymnastics. She loves both sports! CJ played JV baseball and Maria - oh - she made the volleyball team! YEAH! She will be going to high school - yikes! Elizabeth just graduated from Kindergarten. Boo hoo... :( CJ got his drivers licence in April.

I hope to be back in the blogging world more often! :)

Changes in the Dining Room

Hello! I have made a couple of minor changes in my Dining Room and thought I'd share them with you. I love this table - my mom made the table cloth - I have always had the lamps on it. I removed some of the clutter (as my husband would call it) :) So, now, it just has the lamps and candles.

I changed around the dishes in my china cabinet to give it a different look. I like it for now :)

So, welcome to my home this holiday season! I have already posted several favorites in my home during this month. Here are a few more things in my home that I love! This is in my breakfast area. Here are my kitchen Christmas towels :)

Next, I love this plate. I don't know if you can see the angel or not, but it has an angel on the plate. I love the verse that is on the plate! "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow". I love it! More angels... I love angels! Our Christmas tree! We did our tree in colored lights this year - there are lots of memories on our tree! All of the ornaments are from my husband's childhood and my childhood and of course all of our children's ornaments! :) Bandit even has his own ornament :)The stockings were hung by the chimney with care...

I have enjoyed this party! Happy Holidays from our family to yours!

Happy Hump Day! I thought I'd do a post to kill some time - I am waiting patiently for the doctor's office to open. (Actually I have been pacing the floor.) My daughter was up at 4:00 this morning complaining about her stomach hurting. She has been complaining alot about her stomach lately, but not in the middle of the night. So, I think it is time to pay the doctor a visit. Please say a little prayer for her that everything is ok -

Little Table...

Hope you are having a great weekend! I have shopped and wrapped all weekend~ I have enjoyed it though. I am so glad that my husband and I have just about finished all of our shopping. This probably sets a record for us! Now, we will be able to just enjoy the rest of the season without having to worry about fighting all of the traffic and crowds to find that perfect gift.

This little round table is in my Family Room. I love my small, but tall white snowman and my candy dish - it also has a snowman on. Let it snow, let it snow. I don't see any snow the Alabama forecast though :)

Santa's Coming to Town

Happy Saturday! I am exhausted! Chris and I shopped non-stop all day! We are taking a little break right now. I guess I will get started wrapping presents in a bit, no better time to get started! I thought I would share a few of the many Santa Claus' that we have around our house. My hubby came with many Santa's when we got married!

Well, my husband and I shopped all evening and plan to get up early in the morning and get at it again. Hopefully, we can finish up all of our Christmas shopping tomorrow :) It is beginning to look like Christmas around our house! Here is a picture of my breakfast area.

I thought I would take a break to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving! I have been busy tonight getting all ready for tomorrow - we will have a busy busy day tomorrow, as I am sure everyone will! :)

I have so much to be thankful for - I will list a few before I get back to work while the rest of my family is getting their rest for tomorrow :)

On the top of my list is my family! I am so thankful for my family! I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband and three wonderful children! I am thankful for my mom and dad - my one and only brother. I am thankful to have two wonderful grandmothers to still get to share the holidays with! I am thankful for my aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws. I am thankful for my home & everything in it! I am very thankful for my health - I am thankful to be able to get out of bed every morning! There is so much more, but I will stop here! I am also thankful for all of the sweet ladies that I have met in the blog world! I hope that each and everyone of you have a blessed holiday!

Fun, Fun and More Fun

Wow, it has been one week since I have posted! Time flies! We had a wonderful weekend in Fairhope visiting my brother and sister-in-law! Time went way too fast! The weather was absolutely beautiful while we were there! We did some window shopping in the shops in downtown Fairhope! What a neat place :) We got to see the Veteran's Day Parade too! Goodbye October! Goodbye Halloween! Where did October go? I always look so forward to Halloween and then it just comes and goes! We had a lot of fun trick or treating lastnight! Elizabeth ended up dressing up like Ariel The Little Mermaid. She looked mighty cute :) Even though October has come and gone so fast, that is ok. Now we get to look forward to Thanksgiving! Here is a picture of my sitting area in my foyer. I thought I would share my new lamp with you. I bought this little lamp at Old Time Pottery for my kitchen. Well, I didn't like it in my kitchen since it has gold on it, so I figured it would look good in my foyer right in between my two chairs. I like it there! (for now!!!!) :>)

I've been tagged by Michelle at I'm A Little Teapot to tell 7 things about myself. How exciting! Thanks for thinking of me, Michelle! Here is my list:

1.) My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving! We get together with all of our family and it is about the family, not the gifts! :) (Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas too when we get to watch the kids open their gifts! :), but Thanksgiving is my favorite!)

2.) My favorite food is Mexican!

3.) Speaking of food, Monday through Friday, my breakfast usually consists of a mountain dew to drink and a pack of peanut butter crackers or peanut m&m's. Am I healthy or what??? :)

4.) I love candles! Especially the fruity smelling ones!

5.) I like to drink my milk with ice in it!

6.) I am afraid of spiders! All spiders! They give me nightmares :( Just ask my husband!

More pumpkins

ok, I have moved some of my pumkins around to a what I think is their permanent place now. I ususally move my pumpkins around several times before I find a real home for them for the season! They are now on the front porch. I have two small columns right at the steps that they are sitting on. I also moved a few of my mums to the steps. Mr. Scarecrow is sitting on our favorite glider. Every now and then, he'll just have to scoot over ;)

Last but not least, I put these three pumpkins on a big big rock in one of flowerbeds.

Makin' A New Friend

Bandit made a new friend this morning. I ususally let him out one last time before I leave to take my daughter to school and head to work. He took off running this morning and when I went to let him back inside, he was standing in the middle of the front yard with his new friend. All I had to do though was holler and ask him if he wanted a treat and off he went, headed straight for the door and his treat ;>)

One more day of work, so I guess I better begin to think about getting ready for tomorrow! It'll be time to get up before I know it! Jen

Pumpkin' Pickin'

Ahhhhhh, my daughter and I just got home. We are all tired out! It turned out to be a beautiful day! They were calling for rain and thunderstorms today, so I started panicking :) My daughter's kindergarten class went on a field trip today to Tate Farms aka The Pumpkin Patch! So, this was the very first time that I got to be a chaperone! We all had a wonderful time!

There is that pumpkin patch! There are way too many pumpkins to choose from! Big ones, medium ones, little ones - Off we went to find the perfect pumkin. We liked the small ones :)

Scary Friday at Botanical Gardens

Hope this finds everyone doing good. Today my daughter and I went to Botanical Gardens to see the Scarecrow Trail. Us girls had some good girl time and had lots of fun! We saw lots and lots of scarecrows and pumpkins too! Of course, I was trying to sneak a peak at the flowers :) Take a look at some of the scarecrows, flowers and pumpkins that we got to see. I like my little lamp here... This little lamp has probably been used in every room of the house now, with the exception of the laundry room or bathrooms. :)

Well, I think these are my last three flowers on my gardenia bush :( I love my gardenia bush being right next to my side porch. When the gardenia's are blooming it just smells SO good! Gardenia is one of my favorite smells.

Dining Room

These plates are one of the first things that I bought for our new home while we were building our house 3 1/2 years ago! I knew what color I wanted our dining room to be. I spotted these plates from far away at Ross and I just knew that they would match my paint perfectly! And they did :) I wish I could find some more of them :)

This window treatment is in our dining room. My Mom made it! Isn't it pretty? My Mom makes some beautiful window treatments!

Cheering Dahlia’s

My dahlia’s are looking real pretty right now. Well, at least the flowers are, the leaves are not looking so hot! If you need some cheering up, just look at some bright pink dahlia’s. They will perk ya up :)

It is still pretty warm here – today’s high - 89! I like it though. I am a summer nut and like being outdoors, so I am not complaining! It is pretty sad to see all of my flowers dying! I do not like the cold, it is kinda depressing! Hope you had a good Monday. Till next time,

Fun around the Fire

Why do the weekends pass by so fast? I can't believe it is almost time for another week to start. We have had a good weekend even though it has flown by! Lastnight we had a bonfire. Our neighbors came over and we had a wonderful time!

I got a new fire pit yesterday. We had it burning along big fire! We are going to be using that alot! :)

We cooked hot dogs and roasted marshmallows over the firepit. We all enjoyed ourselves very much!

Today we went to my niece's birthday party and had a wonderful time. Maybe we can relax the rest of the night and get back to work tomorrow.

Orange is for October

Now that October is here, day by day we get closer to Halloween. I love Halloween! I can't wait until my 5-year old daughter decides how she is going to dress up! She says that she is going to be Hannah Montana - she LOVES Hannah Montana!!! We'll see... :)

I love Paula Deen! I love her! She is a wonderful woman! My mother and father-in-law got me Paula's 2008 Calendar. I am going to love it! I have flipped through it and it looks so neat! :)

My sister and brother-in-law, niece and nephew got me this frame! Look how cute it is! I love it! It will be even cuter after I get my niece and nephew's picture in it! Celebration is over!

Well, I guess the birthday celebrating is over! I have been lucky enough to have people that I love to celebrate my birthday with for three whole days! All good things usually come to an end, huh? Well, I wasn't looking forward to turning 33, but I guess it isn't so bad! I am very blessed with a wonderful family! I could not ask for more :)My Mom gave me the beautiful flowers and my Grandmother baked me my 33rd birthday cake that was requested by my husband and my daughter! :) Chocolate cake with white icing. Yummy! I'll share more of my birthday goodies later. Have a great evening! Jen

October First

Well, I just celebrated my 33rd birthday today. Well, actually we started celebrating it yesterday. :) I had a wonderful birthday thanks to my family! When I got home from work today, I was greeted by my husband and daughter. My daughter ran in the house and got the card that she made for me after school! It was so sweet! Then, she took me around back and look what I found!!!!

I love it! I have wanted one of these for a while! I can't wait to paint it. I just don't know what color I want to paint it! I am so excited! My husband designed it and built it just for me! You can't see the hooks - but he added some hooks so that I can hang my garden tools. Thank you Chris for putting so much thought and time into my birthday present! I love it!

Surviving Flowers

I have a few flowers that are still alive! I am going to sure miss the butterflies and hummingbirds :( I love to sit at the kitchen table and look out at the butterflies and hummingbirds flying around in my flowerbeds! I thought I would share with you some of the flowers that I have that are hanging in here.
