Summer Vacation

Well, we got home today from vacation at the beach! We had so much fun! :>) The weather was great. We spent most of our time on the beach and some in the pool. We enjoyed the time on the beach even though they had double red flags up the entire time. We went to Margaritaville and that was a really neat place! We also rode go carts and played putt-putt. The time away went way too fast, but it was good to get back home. I needed the time away from work and just the every day rushing around. Now it is back to the real world. Back to work tomorrow and then the kids start back to school Wednesday. It is hard to believe that their summer vacation has almost come to an end. Have a great week!
Ahhhh.... the joys of summer :)

Welcome home! Glad you arrived safe and sound. Sounds like your vacation was fun and I have to say that first picture is beautiful. Look at the different shades of blue!
We still have a month of summer vacation left, but I hope your kids have enjoyed their summer and wish them a successful new school year.

Hi Jen!!! It is wonderful to hear and see about your time away. Nothing beats a good getaway than a dose of fresh ocean air and getting your toes all covered in sand. Lovely place you visited! East coast?

Have a lovely day!!

Good Morning Jen!
I enjoyed my visit here this morning and I'm so glad you had a wonderful vacation too! You have a precious family!

Thank you for your sweet email also! Let's see - about the painted furniture.. I am the world's worst about prep.. I just wipe the pieces down and then paint them! The red dresser out front was one from Goodwill and is pretty much made out of particle board! I painted it with a red enamel paint from Lowes. Sometimes I spray paint the pieces too. Luckily, I don't mind the chippy, shabby look so when they "weather" or get scuffed up, it's okay.
Hope that helps! A friend of mine, Rhoda of Southern Hospitality (blog) is a wonderful painter of furniture and she often shares tips on her blog
(she does it right). I'm sure she would love to help you with some pointers..

xo,
Kim
